Executive Director
Managing Director, Laya Healthcare
D.O. joined the company in 1996 as part of the initial set up of BUPA Ireland. In 2007, D.O. took over as Head of Claims and Deputy General Manager and restructured the claims function. In 2008, he moved to Head of Business Development with responsibility for Sales, Marketing and Product Development. Following the management led buyout and launch of laya healthcare in May 2012, D.O. was appointed Deputy Managing Director and Director of Business Development. In 2025, D.O became Managing Director of laya healthcare.
Mary Condon
Executive Director
Director of Finance and Compliance, Laya Healthcare
Mary joined BUPA as a Financial Accountant in 1998 and was appointed FSA Compliance Officer in 2002 and Finance & Compliance Manager in 2003. Mary has extensive management experience having held senior management and Operational roles across a number of services and manufacturing industries. Following the management led buyout and launch of laya healthcare in May 2012, Mary was appointed the Director of Finance and Compliance.
Prof. Ann O’Doherty
Non-Executive Director
Clinical Director BreastCheck, Dublin
Ann is Clinical director at BreastCheck in Dublin and a Consultant Radiologist as St. Vincent’s Hospital. She is lead Clinical Director at the National Breast Cancer Screening Programme and Quality Assurance Radiologist and Director of the Northern Ireland Breast Screening programme. Ann is Chair of the National Guideline Committee for Breast Services and the author of more than 25 peer-reviewed medical publications.
Honor Moore

Honor, a native of Cork City, is a Non-Executive Director at Laya Healthcare. She brings a wealth of experience in finance and leadership, having recently retired as Partner in Charge of Deloitte in Cork. A graduate of University College Cork with a degree in Commerce, she qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen before spending fifteen years as a senior audit partner in Deloitte.
Beyond her professional achievements, Honor is actively involved in several organisations. She is a non-executive director of the Johnson & Perrott Motor Group, one of Ireland’s longest established family businesses, a member of the Board of Munster Rugby, a director of Cork ARC Cancer Support House, a member of the Finance Committee of the UCC Governing Authority and a director of the Cork University Foundation, supporting UCC’s philanthropic initiatives. She is married with two children.

Richard Whelan

Richard began is career in 1982 with Ernst & Young (EY) in Dublin as a trainee accountant where he worked for serval years. He then went on to progress his career with EY in their London Office as an Audit Manager in the Banking and Insurance Group. After leaving EY in London Richard joined Legal & General Group (UK) (also in London) where he spent 5 years in various Finance roles. Richard left L&G to relocate to Ireland where he joined Guardian Life as Financial Controller. Richard joined AXA in 1996 and has held various roles in the Irish business.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Commencer from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Richard is also a Certified Insurance Director.
Richard is a Board Director of AXA Group Services Limited, AXA Ireland Limited, AXA Ireland Pensions Trustees Limited (and chair of the Board), AXA Pension Fund Ireland Limited and GoGreen Works Limited. He is furthermore Deputy CEO, Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Director of AXA Insurance dac, and a member of the AXA Insurance dac Investment & ALM Committee, Reserving Committee and Risk Committee.
